Virginia Pegram

Virginia Crowell Pegram, 90 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away Friday, August 9, 2013 at Bethany Woods Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Virginia was born September 7, 1922 in Stanly County to the late Dwight Lowrance Crowell and the late Vera Ausband Crowell. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Walter Worth Pegram; and brother DL Crowell, Jr. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Monday, August 12, 2013 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be on Tuesday at 11:00 am at Central United Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Jim Yow. The burial will follow at Stanly Gardens of Memory. She is survived by her daughters, Sharon McLeod of Richmond, VA, and Melissa Cotton of Raleigh; her son, Worth Pegram Jr. of Albemarle; brother, Reggie Crowell of Charlotte; sisters, Betty Lynn Fort of Albemarle, and Barbara Bishop of Riverside, CA. Virginia retired from the Stanly County School System as a teacher's aid at Central Elementary School, and was a devoted member of Central United Methodist Church. The family would like to thank the staff at Bethany Woods for all of their love and support over the last five years. Memorials may be made to Central United Methodist Church, 172 N.
