Vivian Blalock

Vivian Ollie Blalock, age 67, of Albemarle, passed away on Tuesday, April 23rd, 2013 at CMC- Mercy. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle on Thursday, April 25th, from 7:30 – 8:30 pm, and Friday, April 26th, from 10:30 - 11:30 am. The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Doug Peterson and Rev. Lee Shelnut, will follow at Hartsell Funeral Home’s Lefler Memorial Chapel at 11:30am. Burial will be at Fairview Memorial Park. Born July 19, 1946 in Stanly County, NC, Vivian was the daughter of the late Paul Jones and Stella Smith Blalock. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant sister, Brenda Carol Blalock. Vivian is survived by her longtime dear friends, Nancy Lyon of Enon, Ohio; Denise Page of Albemarle; friends Carolyn K. Gasho of Raleigh, NC, Anna and Warren Lyon of Enon, Ohio; her aunts, Daisy Ribelin of Albemarle, and Willie Mary Whitley of High Point; many cousins; and many other close friends and her church family. Vivian was a retired Registered Nurse with the Stanly County Health Dept. and later with the Rowan County Health Dept. She was a graduate of Stanly County Schools and was also a graduate of Mercy Hospital School of Nursing. She attended UNC Charlotte. Vivian was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Associate Reformed Church of Albemarle, and a former member of Second Street Presbyterian Church of Albemarle.
