Vivian Cleonia Burris Efird, age 84 of 2012A Newsome Road, Oakboro, NC 28129, passed away on October 18, 2010 at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle. The family will receive friends at Providence Church of God, Locust, on Wednesday from 1 to 2. Funeral service will follow at 2 PM. Rev. Jerry Ingle will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will meet at her home. She was an inspector for Wiscassett Mills and a member of Providence Church of God in Locust. Born in Stanly County on May 04, 1926, she is the daughter of the late James Richard Burris and the late Letha Priscilla Smith Burris. She is survived by her husband, James Carson Efird of the home; sons, James Carson Efird, Jr. and Wayland Glenn Efird; daughter, Bonita Efird Thompson; sister, Lillie Mae B. Helms, all of Oakboro; 6 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Memorials may be made to Providence Church of God, 12474 NC 24/27/ Hwy, Locust, NC 28097.
