Vivian Harris

Vivian VanHoy Harris, 89 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at Trinity Place in Albemarle.

Mrs. Harris was born June 12, 1926 to the late Connie Monroe and Janie Crumpler VanHoy. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, T.L. Harris and sisters, Phyllis Lippard, and Mildred Locke. Vivian wants everyone to know how much she loved God, her family and her country. This was evident in the life she lived. She retired from the Register of Deeds office but remained active in several organizations, such as Badin Baptist Church, Stanly County Historic Preservation Society, and The Stanly County Republican Party. Mrs. Harris had also served as president of the North Carolina Federation of Republican Women.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 - 11:00 am, Friday, May 20, 2016 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 am in Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel with Rev. Kent Little and Pastor Bill Baldwin officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Memorial Park at 1425 East Main Street, Albemarle.

Survivors include: son, Timothy and wife Ginger Harris; granddaughter, Milea Harris; grandson, Michael Harris of Houston,TX; nieces, Connie Young and Susan Edwards.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Stanly County Historical Society, 245 East Main St. Albemarle.
