Von Stephen Blackwelder, 72, of Concord, passed away Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.
Steve was born February 27, 1949 in North Carolina to the late Carl Dexter Blackwelder Jr. and the late Fannie Elizabeth Blackwelder.
He was also preceded in death by brother, Carl Dexter Blackwelder III.
Steve had many hobbies, but especially loved participating in his church, playing his guitar, riding his tractor maintaining the farm and working on cars, but mostly showed a love for classics. He was married to the love of his life, Sharon, for 33 memorable years.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 am - 10:45 am, Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at Westford United Methodist Church. The funeral service will be on Wednesday at 11:00 am at Westford United Methodist Church in Concord officiated by Rev. Jeffrey Rushing. Burial will follow at the Roberta United Methodist Church Cemetery at 3925 Cochran Road, Concord.
Survivors include wife, Sharon Sue Blackwelder of Concord, NC; brother, Johnny Blackwelder of Concord, NC; sisters, June (Donnie) Barringer, of Concord, NC, Telka (Beanie) Ritch of Concord, NC; brother Mark Blackwelder of Concord, NC; step-sons, Jeff (Loltia) Smith, of Charlotte, NC, Kevin (Heather) Burroughs, of Chicago, Illinois; special nieces, Coree Michelle Blackwelder, and Maylee Elizabeth Blackwelder and other numerous nieces, nephews, and many other family members that loved him dearly.
