Wade Gray

Wade Williams Gray, 86 of 5130 Navion Place, Concord went home Monday, June 30, 2014 to be with the Lord and those who have gone on before him. Mr. Gray was born February 8, 1928 in Cabarrus County and was the son of the late Samuel F. Gray and Edna Johnson Moore. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by his daughter, Pamela Marie Gray Callahan, one brother Hubert Gray and one grandchild.

Mr. Gray is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Sonja Marie Whitley Gray; sons, William (Butch) Gray and wife Robin of Concord, Wade H. Gray of Concord and Wayne C. Gray of Locust; two daughters, Linda Eudy and husband Chuck of Concord and Betsy Bost and husband Mike of Concord; brother, James Gray and wife Carolyn of Concord; 10 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Mr. Gray was an Army veteran of WWII and received a Victory Medal. He retired from Young Ford of Charlotte after 26 years of service. He is a member of New Hope Freewill Baptist Church in Concord.

Visitation will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord on Wednesday, July 2, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord. The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Roger Bostic will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord Chapel on Thursday at 1:00 pm. The burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.

Memorials may be made to New Hope Freewill Baptist Church at 555 Neisler Rd, Concord, NC 28025. His family would like to thank the Hospice staff of Concord and Charlotte, the staff of The Oaks of Town Center of Harrisburg.
