Wade Elvin Hinson, 76 years of age, of Oakboro, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 26, 2016 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.
Mr. Hinson was born May 10, 1940 in Union County to the late John Otis Hinson and the late Ethel Thomas Hinson. He was also preceded in death by his wife in 2007, Willene Love Hinson, who was the love of his life; brothers, Flave Hinson, Buck Hinson, and Lum Hinson; and sisters, Dean Maske, Lucille Stegall, and Betty Helms.
Wade was the general manager of Lum's Ford in Albemarle prior to his retirement. He was a member of Red Cross Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon of the Church for many years. Wade loved the Lord and his church family, and was always ready and willing to serve.
The family will receive friends from 1:00PM - 3:00PM , Friday, December 30, 2016 at Red Cross Baptist Church at 112 W. Red Cross Road in Oakboro. The funeral service will follow in the church sanctuary at 3:00 PM officiated by Rev. Garry Baker and Rev. Josh Fraley. Following the service, the burial will take place in the church cemetery. All other times, the family will meet at Wade's home in Oakboro.
Survivors include his loving son, Jeffery Wade Hinson and wife Donna of Oakboro; grandsons, Brandon Hinson and wife Shannon of Charlotte, Bradley Hinson and fiancée Savannah Elder of Albemarle, and Jeffrey Hatley and wife Emily of Albemarle; three great grandchildren; and one great grandchild. He is also survived by sisters, Gale Price and husband Larry of Monroe, Margaret King and husband Julian of Lenoir, and Janice Gaddy of Monroe, Willene's famly, Glenn Love, Sarah Hinson, Elizabeth Conkin, Betty Paige and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made in Wade's name to the Hospice organization of the donor's choice.
