Wallace Howell

Wallace (Wally) Lytle Howell, 85 years of age, of Concord, NC, passed away Sunday, March 27, 2016 in the care of Hospice & Palliative Care (Tucker House) of Cabarrus County.

Mr. Howell was born May 20, 1930 in Stanly County to the late Artus Howell and the late Nezzie Howell. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Sharon Kay Howell, grandson Wesley Andrew Moore and daughter-in-law Cheryl Murray Howell.

He is survived by his wife, Dolores Shaver Howell of Concord; son, Russell Howell of Concord; daughters, Susan Bare and husband, Mike of Davidson and Gail Howell and husband, Chip of Lake Wylie, SC; grandchildren, April Plemmons, Matthew Ridenhour, Amy Tracy and Karrie Waldron; great-grandchildren, Brody, Knox, Caitlin, Harlow, Landon, Neyland, Kaden and Garreth; brothers, Cecil Howell and Leonard Howell; sisters, Wadene Poplin and Barbara Loftin.

Wally proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He retired from AT&T and enjoyed his time in his woodshop making things for his family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm, Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. Following the visitation, the funeral service will commence at 3:00 pm at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Dr. James Howell. Burial will follow at the Oakboro Cemetery, Oakboro, NC.
