Walter Medlin, Jr

Mr. Walter Medlin Jr. 82 of Concord passed away on Friday, March 5, 2010 at his home. Born on July 05, 1927 in Belmont, Gaston County to the late Walter Cleveland Medlin Sr. and Ollie Mae Bean Medlin. A visitation will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home Concord on Sunday, March 7, 2010 from 5 7. Funeral services will be held at Rocky Ridge United Methodist Church on Monday, March 8, 2010 at 11:00am with the Rev. Lynn Cash officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park in Lenoir, NC at 3:00 pm. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. He was preceeded in death by his parents, Walter Cleveland Medlin Sr. and Ollie Mae Bean Medlin and son Marlin Medlin. Survived by: wife, Sue Medlin of the home; daughters, Melvia Sumner and husband Jim of Simpsonville, SC and Kim Wedding and husband Phil of Charlotte, NC; son Tippy Holt of Marshville, NC; granddaughters, Tricia, Marie, Jamie, and Shelby; grandsons, Darryl, Mitch, and Justin; great grandsons, Will and Conner. Walter was a veteran of the US Navy and served in WWII. He was a former truck driver with Pauline Knitting Mill in Salisbury, NC. He was a member of Rocky Ridge United Methodist Church.
