Hartsell Funeral Home Concord (704)786 1161 PO Box 367 Concord, NC 28026 Mr. Walter Eugene "Buddy" Reist Jr., 45, of 33 Laurel Road, Arden, passed away on Sunday, May 9, 2010, at Memorial Mission Hospital in Asheville. A visitation will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord on Wednesday from 6 until 8 pm. Funeral service will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home in the Chapel on Thursday at 2:00 pm with the Rev. Sammy Pierce officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Harrisburg with military honors performed at the graveside. The family meeting place will be the mother’s home at 2750 Plantation Road, Concord. He was born on December 23, 1964 in Prince Georges County, MD to Warnetta Josephine Elliott Reist and the late Walter Eugene Reist Sr. Buddy was a truck driver for Wilson Trucking in Greenville, SC. He was a US Army Veteran and a fireman in Concord and SC. He was a member of the Patriot Guard Riders and The American Legion, where he was to take the office of Sr.Vice Captain this month in the Hendersonville, NC chapter. Buddy was SCTAA champion. He is survived by his mother, Warnetta Josephine Elliott Reist, of Concord; fiancée, Rhonda Dunn and daughter Taylor, of the home; daughter, Laremie Elizabeth Reist, of Union Grove; sisters, Warnetta "Nita" Litaker, of Concord and Laura Dixon, of Kannapolis; one niece and two nephews. Buddy was preceded in death by his father, Walter Eugene Reist Sr. and a sister, Vera Campbell. Hartsell Funeral Home Concord is serving the Reist family.
