Wanda Jane Brafford, 72, of Locust, passed away Friday, July 7, 2023, at her home in Locust.

Mrs. Brafford was born November 28, 1950, in Cabarrus County to the late Frank Willard Efird, Sr. and the late Dora Jane Clontz Efird.

She was also preceded in death by first husband, Billy Mac Connell, husband, Gerald Wayne Brafford, and brother, Frank "Bug" Willard Efird, Jr.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Monday, July 10, 2023 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The funeral service will be on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Philadelphia Baptist Church at 12568 Philadelphia Church Rd. in Stanfield. The service will be officiated by Dr. Carey Snellings with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Survivors include son, Dwain Connell (Angie) of Chesterfield, VA; daughter, Tanya Crisco (Rodney) of Albemarle; sister, JoAnn Huneycutt of Stanfield; special daughter, Jennifer Smith of Oakboro, stepchildren Turina Laws (Clint), Jeff Brafford (Cathy), and Janna Davis (Sam).

Her heart was filled with an abundance of love for her grandchildren: Emily Connell, Katherine Connell, Sarah Connell, Conner Crisco, Kaitlyn Crisco, Britany Murphy, Madison Smith, and Gage Smith. She was loved by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A special thank you to her sister Ann. The love between these two was like no other. The care, the laughs, the tears and the memories will forever be treasured.
