Warren Hinson

Warren P. Hinson, 74, of Monroe, NC, passed away peacefully into the arms of his loving savior on Friday, September 16, 2011, at Carolinas Medical Center – Main in Charlotte, NC. Mr. Hinson was born August 25, 1937 in Monroe, NC, and was the youngest son of the late Elisha Hinson and Myrtle Haigler Hinson. He was a retired poultry farmer who was loved and treasured by his friends and family. He was the best husband, daddy, and papaw, who was adored for his kind gentle ways by each member of his family. He was preceded in death by his precious granddaughter, Anna Brooke York in 2002; brothers, Brice, Lloyd, and Guy Hinson; and his sisters, Lorene, Lena Mae, and Macie Dean. Visitation will be held from 6 – 8 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 18, at Hartsell Funeral Home in Midland. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Monday, at Crooked Creek Primitive Baptist Church. Services will be conducted by Elder Richard Broadway. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robert Hinson, John Baucom, Josh Rape, Warren Rape, Mitchell Clontz and Jeff McGee. Honorary pallbearers are Roger Clontz and Josiah Rape. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews who he loved with all his heart. At other times, the family will meet at his home. He is survived by his loving wife and caregiver of 55 years, Julia Clontz Hinson. Also surviving are his son, Leon Hinson and his wife, Harriette McGee Hinson; his daughter Glenda Hinson Rape and her husband, Warren Rape; his surviving grandchildren who were the light of his life, Robert Hinson, Rachel Hinson Baucom and her husband, John, Callie Rape, Joshua Rape, and Josiah Rape; also left to cherish his memory is his sister, Blanche Clontz. The family would like to thank Dr. Camp for the compassionate care he provided over the years to Warren. The family requests that memorials be made to Crooked Creek Primitive Church in memory of Warren who loved his church dearly.
