Wayne Smith

Wayne Lee Smith, 67, of Mount Pleasant, passed away November 23, 2020 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis, NC

Wayne was born March 11, 1953 in Concord to the late John and Elsie Smith.

Wayne worked in textiles for many years.  He enjoyed working on mechanical things and salvaging.  He was a collector and treasured his collections.  Wayne was a loving brother and uncle.  He will be remembered as a gentleman.

Survivors include brother, John Bruce Smith and wife, Kay; nephew, Darrel Smith and wife, Marsha; niece, Bonnie S. Helms; Also surviving are four great nephews, David W. Helms, Darren B. Helms and wife Mandoline, Brandon Byerly and wife, Megan, Jeremy Williams and wife, Christina; great niece Kimberly Barnhardt; great-great nephews, Michael Byerly, Wyatt Williams, Hunter Barnhardt; great-great nieces, Hannah and Haleigh Barnhardt.

A graveside service will be held at two o'clock pm on Friday, November 27, 2020 at Mission Baptist Church, Locust, officiated by Rev. Scott White.
