Wellon Morrison

Mr. Wellon Clark Morrison, passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at Universal Healthcare in Ramseur, NC.

He was a lifelong resident of the Bethel Community. After serving in the United States Navy he began his career as an auto body mechanic in Charlotte. Following his retirement from City Chevrolet, Wellon opened Morrison's Body Shop and Muffler Shop.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Susanna M. Morrison (Susie); parents, Fred S. and Annie B. Morrison; brothers, Parks Morrison, Spurgeon Morrison, J. Robert Morrison, and Bill Morrison; sisters, Frances Small, and Ruth Hartsell.

A graveside service officiated by Rev. Neil Crowell will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, February 13, 2015 at Bethel United Methodist Church in Midland. The family will greet friends in the church fellowship hall following the service.

Wellon is survived by his daughter, Marsha Morrison Jensen of Greensboro; granddaughter, Laura Jensen Thornburg and husband, Zack of Asheboro; grandson, Dennis Jensen of Rock Hill; great-grandchildren, Jack, Jensen, and JD Thornburg, and Griffin and Adelaide Jensen; and former wife, Nancy Morrison.
