Whit Henry

Mr. Whit Clifford Henry 85 of 413 Winecoff School Road (Five Oaks Manor) formerly of 770 Sunderland Road Concord passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at CMC-NorthEast Medical Center of Concord. Born on October 6, 1924 in Mecklenburg County to the late George Washington Henry and the late Laura Janie Hegler Henry Sloop. Also preceded in death by his wife Mary Deese Henry who passed away in September of 2009, grandson Ronnie Gene Eudy, Jr., brothers John Henry, Sherman Henry and Elmer Henry, and sister Mae McClellan. Mr. Henry was a Veteran of the US Army having served in WW II. He was a retired chain repairman for Windsor & Jerald, and was a member of Sunrise Freewill Baptist Church. The family meeting place will be at the home of a daughter 711 Sunderland Road Concord. A visitation will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home Concord on Friday, January 22, 2010 from 6 until 8 PM. Funeral services will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home Concord on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at 2 PM with the Rev. Raymond Ross and the Rev. Curtis Ballard officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. Graveside rites will be performed by The North Carolina National Guard Honor Guard. Survived by: son, William Henry; daughters, Mary Ferrell and Joyce Plummer all of Concord; sister, Georgia Efird of Kannapolis; grandchildren, Amanda Starr Plummer, Helen Louise Thorley, Mary Ann Hartsell, Tanya Harlow, Crystal Darlene Clark, and Robert Ferrell; fourteen great-grandchildren.
