Wilburn Hugh Smith, Age 94 of 35052A Palestine Rd, Albemarle, NC 28001, passed away on October 24, 2009 at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle. Born in Atlanta, Ga. on August 26, 1915. Wilburn Hugh Smith was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Misenheimer Smith, mother Alice Lura Lawson Smith , Smith , his father Jonas Adam Smith , . He served in the US Marines during WWII and was a member of Palestine UMC. He was a retired overseer with Wiscassett Mills in Albemarle NC. The family will meet at the home, 35052 A Palestine Rd, Albemarle,NC Memorials may be made to Palestine UMC,36414 Palestine Rd, Albemarle, NC 28001. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 from 10:00 AM 11:00 AM at Palestine United Methodist Church. Funeral service will held on Tuesday,October 27, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Palestine United Methodist Church, . with the minister Rev. David Nolan officiating. Burial will follow at Palestine Cemetery.
