William Barbee

William Jerry Barbee, 80 years of age, of Oakboro, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2018 at his home.

Mr. Barbee was born July 4, 1937 to the late John Lawson and Carrie Kennedy Barbee. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Coble Barbee and brother, Merlin Barbee.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 25, 2017 at 3:00 pm at Mineral Springs Baptist Church in Oakboro, officiated by Rev. Brian Medlin. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Survivors include: daughter, Gwendolyn McCarthy and husband Sean; grandchildren, MacKenzie, Morgan, Zane McCarthy; sisters, Bennie Ruth Thomas, Frances Helms, Kay Chaney, and Andria Coble.
