William Furr

William Ray Furr, age 65, of Locust, N.C., died Friday, July 3, 2009, at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle, N.C. Furr was employed by Mecklenburg County as a Park and Recreation Supervisor and was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. The family meeting place is at his home.. . He was the son of the late James Furr and Elsie (William) Furr. He is also survived by his wife Mary Jane (Carriker) Furr; One Sister, Joyce Carpenter & husband Greg of Pittsboro, N.C. Special friends Benjamin and Libby Stegall, Deanna and Jeff Parker. Arrangements are being handled by Hartsell Funeral Home - Midland, PO Box 100, Midland, N.C., where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday, July 5, 2009. Funeral service will be at Bethel United Methodist Church at 4:00 PM Monday, July 6, 2009 , Rev. Mark Clontz and Rev. Neil Crowell officiating. Interment will be at Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Midland, N.C. Memorials are to be made to Bethel United Methodist Church Building Fund, 12700 Idlebrook Road, Midland, NC 28107
