William H. “Bill†Burbage, Jr, age 68, formerly of Albemarle, died Wednesday, July 20, 2011, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Life Care Center in Wilmington, NC. The memorial service will be on Saturday, July 23, 2011, at 11 am at First Lutheran Church, 230 South Second Street, Albemarle, NC. Rev. John W. Futterer will officiate. The family will receive friends in the church parlor immediately following the service. Born December 1, 1942, in Conway, SC, the son of the late William Henry Burbage, Sr., he is survived by his mother, Mildred Williamson Palmer, of Albemarle; two daughters, Heather Chansen and her partner,Kim of Durham, and Heidi June Burbage and husband, Colman Murphy of Brooklyn, NY; two grandsons, James Whitley Chansen and Jack Judson Murphy. A 1961 graduate of Albemarle High School, Mr. Burbage graduated in 1965 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a BA in History. While at UNC he was a member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity and attended UNC School of Law. Mr. Burbage was a retired real estate sales executive and a member of the NC Board of Realtors.
