William Cody

William “Rodney” Cody, age 63, of Richfield, passed away on Monday, December 20, 2011, at Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte, NC. . The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle on Thursday, December 22 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. At other times, the family will meet at his home. The funeral service will be held on Friday, December 23 at 11:00 am at Paul’s Crossing Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Keith Walters and Dr. Wayne Bennett, with a 30 minute state. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Mr. Cody was born on January 30, 1948, in Stanly County, to the late Daniel Cletus Cody and the late Sarah Bell Almond Cody Briggs. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Brenda Carolyn Eudy Cody, of the home; daughter, Tonya Cody Owen and husband Cale of Oakboro, Amy Cody of Richfield; grandchildren, Meredith Owen, Katelyn Owen and Sarah Owen, all of Oakboro; brothers, Sherrill “Dewayne” Cody and Ronnie “Darrell” Cody, both of Richfield. Mr. Cody was a member of Paul’s Crossing Baptist Church. He was an active volunteer fireman in Richfield-Misenheimer fire department for over 40 years. He was retired and loved to mow his yard. Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Cody family.
