William Coley

William “Ray” Coley, 67 of Concord, passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2012 at Carolinas Medical Center-NE. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 8, 2012, from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord. The funeral service, officiated by Pastor Don Burleyson, will be held at Pennsylvania Avenue Baptist Church, 3006 Pennsylvania Avenue, Kannapolis, NC, on Thursday, February 9 at 11:00 a.m. He will lie in state for 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow at West Concord Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Cabarrus County Honor Guard. At other times the family will meet at the home. William was born on August 9, 1944, to the late Doctor “Doc” William Coley and the late Mary Alice Henley Coley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Coley and a daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Coley. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Judy Elaine Mauldin Coley of the home; two sons, Bryant Coley and wife Christina, and Terry Coley of Salisbury; two granddaughters, Chastity Coley and Ashlyn Coley of Salisbury, two sisters, Judy Clevenger of Salisbury and Francis Suther of Mt. Pleasant; and a brother, Coy Coley of Mt. Pleasant. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Hartsell Funeral Home C/O William Ray Coley’s account, PO Box 367, Concord, NC 28026.
