Mr. William Franklin Craig Jr., 81, of Concord, passed away Friday, May 3, 2013 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis. He was born February 15, 1932 to the late William F. Craig Sr. and Evelyn Banks Craig in Charlotte. Visitation for Mr. Craig will be Monday, May 6, 2013 from 11:00am to 12 noon at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The service will be at 12 noon in the funeral home chapel with burial to follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. Mr. Craig Graduated from the Georgia Military Academy in College Park, GA and from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a BS in Marketing. He was a member of Delta Sigma Pi Fraternity, Stokes Lodge #32 AFM, the Charlotte Bodies of Scottish Rites, Oasis Shrine Temple and Calvary Lutheran Church of Concord. He served in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific and the Far East, earning multiple citations including the Presidential Unit Citation, from 1951-1955 and retired from Macklanburg-Duncan Co. He is survived by his; wife, Dottie Craig of the home; sons, William F. Craig III of Columbia, SC and B. Scott Craig of Shallotte; step-daughters, Rhonda Brown of Concord and Treva Parrish of Rock Hill, SC and by his five grandchildren. Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord is serving the Craig family.
