William Dorton

Mr. William Marshall "Bill" Dorton, 82, of 2310 Montford Avenue Concord passed away on Monday, July 5, 2010 at The Brian Center in Concord. Born on March 12, 1928 in Cabarrus County to the late James Richard and Mary Boger Dorton. Also preceded in death by a brother James Richard Dorton, Jr, and a granddaughter Mary Deane Dorton. Mr. Dorton was a truck driver for Consolidated Freight, and attended Concord Wesleyan Church. A visitation will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home Concord on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 from 6 until 8 pm. Funeral services will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, July 7, 2010 at 11 am, with the Rev. Ron Rider officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. Survived by: wife, Shirley Mullis Dorton of the home; sons, Shane Byron Dorton of Concord, Roman Bradley Dorton & wife Meredith of Concord; daughter, Shannon Baker & husband Danny of Concord; sister, Cornelia Hartman of Hickory; grandchildren, Anna Baker, Brady Baker, Davis Dorton, Ella Dorton.
