William Edwards

William A. Edwards, age 79 of Oakboro, passed away on Monday, March 19, 2012 at his home. The family will receive friends on Wednesday March 21 from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 22 at 2:00 PM in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel. At other times, the family will meet at his home. Mr. Edwards was born in Stanly County on November 25, 1932 to the late William Alexander Edwards, Sr. and to the late Dora Irene Mullis Morgan Edwards. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Claude Morgan, Sr. and a sister, Katie Williams. He is survived by his wife Ann Edwards of 58 years; one son, Todd Edwards of Oakboro; one daughter, Renda Williams of Oakboro; and one grandson, Orie Edwards.
