William Clifton “WC” Grimsley, age 50, of Concord, NC went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, April 8, 2013 at Carolina’s Specialty Hospital after a long battle with leukemia. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home on Thursday, April 11, 2013 from 6 PM to 8 PM. The funeral service will be held at the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, April 12, 2013 at 11am, with Pastor Jimmy Hall officiating. He will then be transferred to Stafford Memorial Park in Stafford, VA for the graveside service on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 2 PM. He will be buried at the head of his father. WC was born on November 6, 1962, in Leesburg, VA and raised in Prince William, VA. He is preceded in death by his father, Ernest Pittman Grimsley, Sr. of whom he loved very much and never really got over losing him. He is survived by his wife, Patricia of the home; his mother, Betty Lee Flippo Grimsley; brothers, David Edward “Eddie” Grimsley, Ernest “Sonny” Pittman Grimsley, Jr. and wife Candy; sisters, Debra “Debe” Ward and husband Steve, Peggy Ridley and husband Don, Linda Sue Rice and husband Dave, all of Virginia; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; step children, Tamara Presson and husband Donnie, Michael Treadway and Jayne, Alan Summers and wife Amber; Step grandchildren, Tara Coley and husband Chris, Brianna Plummer, Joshua Treadway, Gage and Gannon Summers, Craig Rackley; step great grandchildren, Alan, Adylyn and Annabell Rackley. WC worked at Thomas Concrete in Concord since 1999, first as a mixer driver and then as a plant manager. He loved football, bowling, fishing, and wrestling. His name is in the hall of fame for his bowling expertise. WC wasn’t much of a talker and always said, “He listened and learned more.” May you rest in peace WC. You were a wonderful friend and husband. You will be greatly missed. I love you. May God’s speed be with you. No more pain, tears or sorrow. You put up a good fight and you kept the faith. Memorials may be made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, PO Box 4072, Pittsfield, MA 01202. Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord is serving the Grimsley family.
