William Hallman, Jr.

William Edward Hallman, 79, of New London, passed away on  February 27, 2021 at his home in  New London, NC.

He was born on April 13, 1941 to the late William and Arttie (Ledbetter) Hallman in Concord, NC. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years, Elsie Mae Hallman; brother, Larry Joe Hallman; and sister, Corita Purcell.

William worked in Landscaping for many years which he thoroughly enjoyed. He had a green thumb and could tell you anything about flowers especially pertaining to keeping them alive.  William was an avid fisherman and loved to get out on the lake to enjoy the water, sun, and the outdoors.   He also was an Army Veteran in which he proudly served his country until he was honorably discharged.   He was a loving husband, father grandfather, great grandfather and friend.  His presence will be sorely missed by his family and those who knew and loved him.

He leaves behind a loving son, Alan Hallman of Asheboro, NC; daughter-in-law, Vickie Hallman; daughter, Suzanne (Doug) Lauder; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren. Brothers, Daniel (Jackie) Hallman; Jimmy (Patricia ) Hallman; and sisters, Sylvia  Bagbey; and Gloria  Bergey.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at 6 - 8 p.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord, NC. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at 9 a.m. at Salisbury National Cemetery with Frank Thompson officiating.
