William Harkey
January 18, 1951 — November 29, 2015
William Lee Harkey went to be with our Lord on November 29, 2015.
“Harkey” was born in Mooresville, NC on January 18th, 1951.
Harkey was a devoted husband, dad, and friend to many. He joined the Army at a young age and served in Korea as a specialist in the Military Police. During his service he earned his sharpshooters badge, and target-shooting was a hobby he continued to enjoy throughout his life. He was also an avid fan of Harley-Davidson motorcycles and Corvettes. He owned and drove several throughout his life, and loved to ride with family and friends.
Most of all, Harkey had a big heart, and touched so many people throughout his life. He will be missed by many, and may he rest in peace.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lucky Carl Harkey; mother, Pauline Sherrill Ingle; and sister, Carline Harkey.
Harkey is survived by his loving, devoted wife Teresa Eudy Harkey; son William L. Harkey and daughter-in-law Ashlyn; son David C. Noble; step-daughters Kristen E. Melvin and her husband Robert, and Lauren M. Eudy; close friend and brother David Anderson and his wife Debbie; sister Lynn Harkey; mother-in-law Sylvia Hunt and husband Jimmy; father-in-law David Stepp; many friends and family, and his loyal furry companions Bella and Harley.
