William King

William Benson King, Jr., 76 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Bethany Woods Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Albemarle.

Mr. King was born April 2, 1939 in Union County to the late William Benson King, Sr and Cornelia Broome King. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Gary O. King and sister, Loutee Broome .

Mr. King served in the US Army for three years and was employed with the North Carolina Department of Transportation. He was well known for his passion for the Nash Metropolitans.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Monday, February 1, 2016 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Faith Hope and Charity Church, 1143 Pee Dee Ave in Albemarle officiated by Rev Mark Barnes and Rev Curtis E. Long. Burial with military honors will follow the service at 2:00 PM at Lakeland Memorial Park, 1901 Lancaster Ave in Monroe.

Survivors include wife, Dottie King of Albemarle, son, Wayne King and wife Tammy of Albemarle, daughters Teri Paden of the home and Sandie Blanton of Sneads Ferry, ten grandchildren, and eighteen great grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association, 3800 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte N.C. 28125.
