William Long

William Tilton "Boots" Long, 65, of 2300 Sundale Ave., Concord, passed away on October 23, 2009 at CMC-NorthEast. He was born in Concord on June 24, 1944 to the late Adam Long and the late Lizzie Belle Clay Long. He was a warp tender at Concord Lace and a member of the Baptist faith. He loved bowling and fishing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Richard "Dick" Long, Adam "Jay" Long, Jr., and Carl "Smokey" Long, and his grandson Jeffrey Pait, Jr. A visitation will be held on Monday, October 26, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord. The funeral service will follow at 4:00 PM in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeff Burris officiating. Mr. Long is survived by his sons, Robert William Long of Concord and Mickey Tilton Long of Salisbury; daughters, JoAnn Long Gomez of Mt. Pleasant, and Laceta Marie Long of Blacksburg, SC; sisters, Ashlyn Thomas and Edith Trull; brothers David and Alfard Long; 13 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
