William Mcgovern, Jr

William Richard McGovern, Jr., 60, of Midland, passed away May 13, 2010, at Carolinas Medical Center NorthEast, Concord, NC. Mr. McGovern was born November 3, 1949, in Kings County, NY. He was preceded in death by his wife, Julia Lee Watson McGovern, and parents, William Richard McGovern, Sr., and Margaret Lebounty McGovern. He served in the Air Force and was self employed as a painter. The family will receive friends Monday, 6 – 8 p.m., at Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland. The funeral service will be Tuesday, 11:00 a.m., in the chapel, Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland. Burial will take place at a later date in the Salisbury National Cemetery. Survivors include siblings, Richard, Jessica and Shannon; sons, First Sergeant William McGovern, III, and Raymond Dudine; daughters, Terri Lee McGovern, Jennifer McGovern, and Dawn Dudine; and 10 grandchildren.
