William Morris

William "Ben" Morris, 83 years of age, passed away Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Mount Pleasant House in Mount Pleasant, NC.

Mr. Morris was born July 9, 1932 in Stanly County to the late Henry Travis Morris and the late Elizabeth Blake Morris. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Henry Travis Morris; sisters, Ruby Morris Lowder and Mildred Morris Wilkinson.

He graduated from the Albemarle schools and Pfeiffer College in 1960. Ben served as the Finance Director for the city of Albemarle for several decades. He was also a member of the West Albemarle Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM ,Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at West Albemarle Baptist Church in the Family Life Center. The memorial service will follow at 12:00 PM in the church sanctuary officiated by Rev. Adam Hatley.

Survivors include sons; Charles Morris and wife Regina of Concord, and William "Chick" Morris and wife Deborah of Charlotte; six grandchildren, Brian James Morris of Concord, Cassity Stroud of VA, Jessica Pabon of Waxhaw, Nathanael Samonds of Denver, NC, Caitlin Dover of Charlotte, and Elise Weyersburg of Denver; NC and 16 great grandchildren.
