William Newton

Mr. William Cory Arthur "Bill" Newton, 83, of 1084 Iveywood Place, NW, Concord, passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2010 at CMC NorthEast. He was born on March 31, 1927 in White Plains, NY to the late Ernest Newton and the late Ruth Yeager. Bill was a member and usher of St. James Catholic Church and a funeral director with Schmidt’s Funeral Home in Seaford, NY. He was a third degree knight with the Knights of Columbus and a past president of the Kiwanis’s Club. A visitation will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at St. James Catholic Church on Thursday, December 23, 2010 at 2:00 pm with Father Francis Dionne officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Theresa Foy Newton, of the home; sons, William Newton, of Huntersville, Michael Newton, of Concord, and Bob Newton and wife, Joy, of Old Fort; daughter, Amy Newton O’Rourke and husband, Michael, of Concord; brother, Ernest Newton, Bellmore, NY; and two grandchildren.
