William Phifer

William Brice Phifer, age 86 of Albemarle, NC passed away on January 24, 2011 at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle. The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 26 at Hartsell Funeral Home from 6-8 PM. The service will be held Thursday, January 27 at 11 AM at Congregational Christian Church, with a 30 minute state. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Pastor Donald Ray Johnson will officiate the services. He was born in Stanly County on March 03, 1924 to the late Charlie and Ada Phifer. Mr. Phifer served in the Air Force during WWII which included a tour in Italy. Mr. Phifer is survived by his spouse Claudine Phifer of Albemarle; daughter, Sheila Phifer Ward of Warsaw, VA; grandchildren, James Harper Ward Jr. and wife Gloria Ward, and Rebeccah Phifer Ward, all of Richmond, VA; great-granchildren, Sarah and Lucy Ward of Richmond, VA. Memorials may be made to Congregational Christian Church, 1119 Carolina Avenue, Albemarle, NC. Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Phifer family.
