Born in Cabarrus County to the late George Washington Yarbrough and the late Lillie Mae Simpson Yarbrough. Also preceded in death by brothers, Earl, Robert, and Hoyle Yarbrough and sisters, Grace Parham and Helen Hassig. Mr. Yarbrough was a veteran of the US Army. He was an insurance agent for Durham Life Insurance Company for over 30 years. He was a member of Westford United Methodist Church, where he was active in the church and was also a member of the church choir. A visitation will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home Concord on Wednesday, March 03, 2010 from 6 until 8 PM. Funeral Services will be held at Westford United Methodist Church in Thursday, March 04, 2010 at 10 AM following a 30 Min. state, with the Rev. Jeff Rushing officiating. Burial will follow at Roberta United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers for Mr. Yarbrough will be Eddie Yarbrough-son, Keith Yarbrough-son, John Barbee-son-in-law, Scott Yarbrough-grandson, Dale Yarbrough-grandson, Christopher Yarbrough-grandson. Survived by his wife, Mae Blackwelder Yarbrough of the home; sons, William E. Yarbrough, Jr. and wife Rae of Concord, Bryon Keith Yarbrough and wife Starla of Concord; daughters, Ann Y. Barbee and husband John of Concord, Faith Y. Smith and hisband Wallace of Concord; brother, Rev. Jack Yarbrough and wife Sylvia of Winston Salem; sisters, Billie Y. Dabbs of Gastonia, Elaine Y. Queen and husband Bill of Mooresville; granddaughters, Ashley Smith and Amber Yarbrough; grandsons, Dale Yarbrough and wife Lori, Scott Yarbrough and wife Stephanie, Christopher Yarbrough; great-grandchildren, Lindsay, Peyton, Alex, Sam, and Jake Yarbrough.
