William Yow

William James Yow, age 84, died Sunday, January 10, 2010. He was born in Greensboro, NC to his late mother Locia Von Yow Frye. He is survived by his wife Kathryn "Kathy" Anne Almond Yow, two daughters Dr. Teresa Gail Yow and husband Steven Edwards, Knoxville, TN and Sharon LaVon Yow Brooks and husband James C. Brooks, Gastonia, and stepson Dr. Michael Rusty Elliott and wife Heather. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Leigh Grieves and husband Scott, Bryan Brooks and wife Christy, Adam Brooks, James Edwards, Suzanne Dawes and husband Geordy, Amber, Benjamin, Gabriel, Blythe and Alexander. He has three great-grandchildren; Bryan Grieves, Erin Grieves, and Cole Brooks. He was a salesman for All Star Mills and Rocky River Mills. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. The family meeting place will be at his home, 28240 Hatley Farm Rd., Albemarle, NC 28001. The DAV Chapter 12 will be performing military rites at his service. The visitation will be held on Thursday, January 14 from 1 - 2 PM with the service beginning at 2 PM at Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel in Albemarle. Rev. Ron Honeycutt is officiating and the interment will be at Anderson Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, where he was a member at the church. Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
