William "Bill" Bloodworth

William "Bill" Harrison Bloodworth, 89, of Harrisburg, passed away Monday, October 25, 2021, at Levine & Dickson Hospice House at Aldersgate in Charlotte.

Mr. Bloodworth was born March 4, 1932, in Westminster, South Carolina to the late William Franklin Bloodworth and the late Virginia Dilworth Bloodworth.

Bill was in the transportation business for many years, beginning as a driver for Akers Motor Lines and advancing into management. After Akers closed, he joined Collins and Aikman in their trucking division as General Manager/Safety Director.

Bill enjoyed golfing, auto racing, and watching various sports.  He was also a veteran of the United States Army.

Survivors include wife, Jennie McNaull Bloodworth of Harrisburg, NC, son Robert Harrison Bloodworth and wife Bonita of Salisbury, NC, William Jeffrey Bloodworth of Florida, grandchildren Spencer Bloodworth of Charlotte, NC, April Bloodworth Iglesias, and Matt Bloodworth. He was preceded in death by his first son William Bloodworth.
