Willie Almond

Willie Clinton Almond, 80 years of age, of Locust, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at Carolinas HealthCare System NorthEast in Concord.

Willie was born December 2, 1935 in Stanly County to the late Bill Arnold Almond and the late Effie Pearl Almond.
He was also preceded in death by first wife, Alice P. Almond.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Thursday, October 6, 2016 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The funeral service will be on Friday at 1:00 pm at Freedom Baptist Church in Locust, and will be officiated by Rev. Wally Gilmer and Rev. Gerald Baucom. Burial will follow at the Freedom Baptist Cemetery at 20015 Coley Store Rd., Locust.

Survivors include wife, Beatrice Almond of Locust; daughter, Vickie (Tim) Barbee of Midland; daughter, Jane (Carol) Whitley of High Point; four grandchildren, Staci Atwell, Emily Barbee, Jessica Manuel ,and Krista Lilly; four great-grandchildren, Alyson Manuel, Carter Manuel, Gunner Lilly, and Chase Bowers; two sisters, Lucille Eudy and Margaret Troutman; and one brother, Rayvon Almond.
