Willie Jay Little Easley, 86 of Stanfield, passed away on Monday, February 20, 2012 at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle. The family will receive friends Sunday, February 26, 2012 from 3 pm until 4 pm at Love’s Grove United Methodist Church, Stanfield. The funeral service will follow at 4 pm at Love’s Grove United Methodist Church. Rev. Jim White and Rev Coy Blackman will officiate. Born on June 12, 1925, in Stanly County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Jacob Ernest Little and the late Dora Alice Jenkins Little. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph McClain Easley; her son, Kenneth McClain Easley; 3 brothers and 2 sisters. She is survived by her son, Charles Wayland “Chuck” Easley of Harrisburg; daughter Marilyn Alice Easley of Stanfield; grandsons, Joseph McClain Easley, II and wife Stephanie Dawn Easley of Albemarle and Matthew Charles Easley of Midland; and great grandson, Caleb Joseph Easley of Albemarle. Mrs. Easley was a lifelong member of Love’s Grove United Methodist Church in Stanfield where she served as chairperson for Council on Ministries, choir member, Sunday school teacher and UMW. She was Albemarle District “Lay Person of the Year” in 1989 and was a bus driver for special needs children in Stanly County for 14 years. She enjoyed gardening and being outdoors.
