Willie Harvell

Willie Christine Harvell, 91 years of age, of Locust, passed away Monday, February 24, 2014 at her home. Ms. Harvell was born March 29, 1922 in North Carolina to the late Herbert Lee Efird and the late Matokie Louvine Efird. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 70 years in 2012, Walter Lee Harvell and grandson, Jonathan Taylor in 1989. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm, Friday, February 28, 2014 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The funeral service will be on Friday at 1:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home's Chapel in Midland, officiated by Rev. Scott Williams and Rev. Richard Collins. Burial will follow at the Community Baptist Church Cemetery at 818 N. Central Ave., Locust. Survivors include daughters, Dianne Taylor of Locust, Willie Rose Thompson of Monroe and Rebecca Lynne Gardner of Locust; brother, Gene Efird of Charlotte; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
