Willie Hasty

Willie Marnell Hasty, 68 years of age, of Charlotte, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2015 at Clear Creek Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Mint Hill.

Willie was born June 4, 1947 in Cabarrus County to the late James Doyet Hasty and the late Sarah Joyce Hinson Hasty. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Frances Irene Hasty; and brother, Weldon Hasty.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, Friday, September 4, 2015 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel in Midland, officiated by Rev. Travis Hutcheson. The burial will follow at Howell's Baptist Church Cemetery, 3800 Baptist Lane, Concord. Military honors will be conducted by the Cabarrus County Veterans Honor Guard. At other times the family will receive friends at the home of his sister, Geraldine Haigler.

He is survived by his sister, Geraldine Haigler and husband, Dannie of Midland.

Willie served his country honorably in the United States Army. He was a retired officer with the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department.
