Willie Fowler Hinson, 92, of Midland, passed away on Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at Kindred Nursing Center in Monroe. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 8, 2012, at Hopewell Baptist Church in Monroe, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow in the church at 4:00 p.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Willie was born on October 2, 1919, to the late Baxter Lee Fowler and the late Virginia Smith Fowler. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Worth Hinson, and a brother, Tom Fowler. She graduated from Rockwell High School, Pfeifer College, and retired from Cannon Mills. She was a devoted, loving, wife, mother, grandmother, gardener and a lifetime member of Hopewell Baptist Church. She is survived by two sons, Deryle Hinson of Tallahassee and Jerry L. Hinson and wife, Betty, of Monroe; a daughter, Robin Hilton and husband, Eddie, of Midland; four grandchildren, Alan Hinson and wife, Sherri, Paula Moore and Husband, Gary, Wesley Hinson and wife, Shannon, Elizabeth Hilton and Katie Hilton; three great-grandchildren, Jacob Hinson, Ava Hinson and Ryder Hinson; two brothers, James Stacy Fowler of Concord and Hugh L. Fowler of Rockwell; and three sisters, Gailya Klutz of Salisbury, Martha Ritchie of China Grove and Ruth Shephard of Salisbury Memorials may be made to Hopewell Baptist Church Building Fund; 420 Hopewell Church Rd., Monroe, NC 28110.pewell Church Road Monroe, NC 28 Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland is serving the Hinson family.
