Mrs. Willie "Bill" Traywick Palmer, 97 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away September 5, 2015, at Trinity Place in Albemarle.

Mrs. Palmer was born in Stanly County to the late Jesse Washington and Beulah Griffin Traywick.
She was also preceded in death by husband, Albert Palmer; sisters, Betty Jo Winters, Georgia Honey Sizemore, Louise Traywick, Nell Hathcock, Kathleen Traywick, Lorene Hudson Williams; and brother, Lloyd Traywick.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm, Wednesday, September 9, 2015, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The memorial service will be on Wednesday at 3:00 pm in the chapel officiated by Elizabeth Ayscue, Pastor, and Matt Drumheller, Associate Pastor. Burial will follow at New London Cemetery, 331 Spring Street, New London.

A member of First Presbyterian Church since 1955, her many activities included choir, Bible study, Women's Circle, and Senior Luncheons. As long as her health permitted, she was active in the Order of the Eastern Star, Norwood Chapter No. 164. An avid golfer, she was a charter member of the Stanly County Country Club in Badin.

Mrs. Palmer was owner and operator of Palmer Furniture Company for over 40 years.

Survivors include one brother, Jerry (Jo) Traywick of Ormond Beach, FL; niece, Candace Hudson; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family requests that memorials be made to First Presbyterian Church, Living Legacy Campaign, PO Box 1578, Albemarle, NC 28002.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Trinity Place and Hospice of Stanly County for the wonderful care they provided.
