Windy Shackelford

Windy Kay Shackelford, 47, of Kannapolis, NC passed away Sunday, May 26, 2019.

Windy was born April 4, 1972 in Charlotte, NC to the late Franklin Leroy Shackelford, Sr. and the late Eva Elaine Capps Shackelford. She was also preceded in death by her son, Sonny Eugene Yin.

Windy loved her family,especially her 5 grandchildren. Whether it was a soccer game to preschool pickup to playing on the floor for hours. She will always be known for her contagious laugh and bright smile. Her selflessness inspired people and was a daily reminder to always treat others the way you want to be treated, love one another, and never take one single moment for granted.
Anyone that met Windy knows the true definition of a strong woman; from raising 3 children on her own, to never missing a day of work or family functions. She always made time for any and everyone.
She will truly be missed and loved by every soul that she has touched.

Survivors include her son, Jason Sokhoeun Yin and wife Stephanie; daughter, Destiny Chrisshona Shackelford and significant other Shawn; daughter Stephanie LaShonda Williams and significant other Allen; grandchildren Jaxton, Eva, Piper, Jaeleigh and Elaina; brother Frank L. Shackelford, Jr.; sister Elizabeth "Ann" Shackelford; sister Jennifer Gibson; brother Marvin Shackelford; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life for Windy will be held at 4:00 pm on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Hartsell Funeral Home, 460 Branchview Drive, Concord, NC.

Memorials may be made to Levine Children's Hospital.
