Winfred Simpson, Jr

Mr. Winfred Baker Simpson, Jr., 71, of 375 Acorn Acres Road Norwood, formerly of Midland passed away on Sunday, July 18, 2010 at his home. Born on June 4, 1939 in Stanly County to the late Winfred Baker Simpson, Sr and Ethel Greer Furr Simpson. Mr. Simpson was a retired supervisor with PMI in Harrisburg, and a member of Freedom Holiness Church in Norwood. He was a retired volunteer fireman and first responder for Locust VFD . The family meeting place will be at the home. A visitation will be held on Monday, July 19, 2010 at Hartsell Funeral Home Midland from 6 until 8 pm. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at Freedom Holiness Church at 2 pm following a 30 min. state, with the Rev. Brian Burris officiating. Burial will follow at Norwood Cemetery. Survived by: wife, Linda Simpson of the home; children, Amanda Gregory of Locust, NC, David Buckalew of Illinois, and Danille Tyrce of Midland, NC; 6 grandchildren; step-son, Terry Caudle of Norwood, NC; 3 step-grandchildren; sisters, Elaine Page and husband Terry of Locust, NC and Doris Bare of Ronda, NC; and a number of nieces and nephews.
