Winnifred Newby

Winnifred Winchester Olive “Winnie” Whitely Newby, 79, of Concord, NC, formerly of Mt. Vernon, NY passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at her home. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord on Saturday, March 30, 2013 from 4 until 6 pm. Funeral services will follow in the Concord Chapel at 6 pm. Burial will be at a later date in The VA Cemetery in Long Island, NY. Mrs. Newby was born on September 3, 1933 in Jamaica, to the late Lanceworth Whitely and Ivy Maud Whitely. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Erle Sidney Newby. She is survived by her daughters, Gail Smith, and Dyan Rodriquez; grandchildren, Caylin, Sydney, Nicholas, and Jason. Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord is serving the Newby family.
