Yetteva Simpson

Yetteva Rowell Simpson, 90, passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2013 into eternal rest into the loving arms of Jesus. Yetteva was born September 14, 1923 to the late Claude Jennings Rowell and Lillie Wright Rowell in Union County. Yetteva was a member of Roberta Baptist Church for over 60 years and attended faithfully until her health prevented her from doing so. She loved her Mother’s Sunday School class, was active in WMU and was a GA leader. She worked for Cannon Mills for a short time, but was a Home Maker for most of her life. She loved to cook and especially enjoyed making vegetable soup for her two great- grandchildren Brandon and Jessica. She loved to sew, quilt, crochet and write poetry. Her favorite thing was working in her flower garden where she could spend many hours tending to her flowers. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 from 6 pm to 8pm. A funeral service celebrating her life will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home chapel on Thursday September 19th 2013 at 2 pm,officiated by Rev. Buck Canup. Burial to follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Yetteva was preceded in death by her husband Junior who was the love of her life for over 66 years. Also preceding her in death was her beloved son Harold and her loving grandson Gary Hinson Jr. She was also preceded in death by her sister Willene Jordon and her brothers Efird and Ray Rowell. Yetteva is survived by two daughters, Faye Hinson (Gary) and Linda Simpson, both of Concord. She is survived by 6 Grandchildren, Lori Hinson Tarlton (Scott), Dale Hinson, Kelly Steele McCorkle (Shane), Cindy Simpson Wise (Mike), Traci Simpson Miller (Jason), and Josh Simpson. Also Surviving are 7 Great Grandchildren, Brandon and Jessica Tarlton, Abby Wise, Sydney and Graham Miller, Brooklyn and Jessalyn Simpson. She is also survived by her brother Wade Rowell (Jackie) and Sister-In-Law Helen Rowell of Kannapolis. Our beloved and sweet Mother, you are the best mother ever, we love you so very much and you will be in our hearts forever until we meet again. Flowers are welcome or memorial donations can be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081. Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord is serving the Simpson family.
