A Fulfilling Life
Ying Vang, age 67, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 24, 2025 at Atrium Health Hospice & Palliative Care Cabarrus in Kannapolis. He is survived by his loving wife, Kia Vue, of 48 years, and his children, Mary, Cindy, Nou, Pang Ku, Chen, and Tou (Rest in peace). Forever cherished and remembered by his 12 grandchildren; Kalina, Maylene, Jayden, Juliana, Kai, Aaron, Ryan, Collin, Nathan, Angelina, Evan, and Avery.
Our dear father was born in Laos and grew up in a small village called Xieng Khouang to parents Blia Neng Vang & Maa Vue. He was the fourth child out of five other siblings; two older brothers, one older sister and one younger brother. In the 1970s, during the Vietnam War, he fought in the Secret War aiding the United States Central Intelligence Agency & the United Nations at the age of 13. After the war, he left his family to immigrate to Hawaii in 1978 where he eventually met his wife, Kia Vue. Together, they moved to Fresno, California to start a family of their own. Some of his greatest joy came from his six children. Many memories were created while enjoying family time together at the park, movie nights, fishing, and playing his guitar. Ying was not only musically gifted in playing guitar, he also had a natural talent in the arts of crafting and sculpting. He would often sculpt roller wooden massagers or wooden acupressure massager sticks. They were all beautifully handmade and crafted by him.
He was a devoted father to his six children and a caring husband for his wife. Ying was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was nonchalant, free-spirited and yet simple-minded where he viewed life as a journey, hustling his way to anything that fulfills him. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by him. We ask that you remember him not for the way his life ended, but for the way it was lived and for the profound impact it had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Thank you to everyone for the continued thoughts and prayers for the Vang Family! We offer our heartfelt gratitude during this time. Your support, comforting condolences, and gestures of love and kindness are truly appreciated.
