Zeb Query

Mr. Zeb C. Query 92 of Concord passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2010 at The Oaks at Town Center in Harrisburg. Born on April 17, 1917 in Cabarrus County to the late Jacob Leon Query, Sr. and the late Winnie Yerton Query. Also preceded in death by his wife Helen Frances Kee Query, brothers, Jacob L. Query, Jr., Ed Calvin Query, and Ernest R. Query, Sr., sisters, Alice Easley and Martha Ferguson. Mr. Query was a retired machinist for Cannon Mills for 50 years. He played baseball for The Cannon Mills team in the Textile League, he also enjoyed fishing on the coast. He was active in the Central Cabarrus Booster Club. Zeb was a carpenter, and built many homes in the area. A visitation will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home Concord on Saturday, January 23, 2010 from 9:30 until 10:30 AM. Funeral services will follow in the chapel at 11 AM, with the Rev. Jessica Patchett Anderson and Mrs.Sarah Alice Underwood officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. Survived by: daughters, Joyce Wiles of Easley, SC and Frances Taylor of Concord; brother, Victor L. Query of Concord; sisters, Sadie Hefner of Harrisburg and Betty Sides of Charlotte; grandchildren, Tommy and Lee Wiles of Easley, SC, Steve Taylor of Pittsboro, and Mark Taylor of Concord; four great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Cornerstone Presbyterian Church 401 Pitts School Road SW Concord, NC 28027 or to Cabarrus County Meals on Wheels 1701 South Main Street Kannapolis, NC 28081.
