Zeb Simpson

Zeb Clay Simpson, 84, of 1485 Winecoff School Road Concord passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at CMC-NorthEast in Concord. He was born on June 11, 1927 in Cabarrus County to the late Ferris and Maude Velene Barnhardt Simpson. He was also preceded in death by his wife Goldie Mae Riley Simpson, son Zebbie Lee Simpson, daughter Rita Jean Simpson and granddaughter Lisa Owings. Mr. Simpson worked for Goodman Dairy Farm and later Crowder Construction. His favorite activities were farming and working in his garden. The family meeting place will be at the home of his daughter Gail Harvey at 811 Woodmoore Lane in Kannapolis. A visitation will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord on Wednesday, September 14th from 7 until 9 PM. Funeral services will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home Concord Chapel on Thursday, September 15th at 11 AM, with Rev. Barry Moore officiating. Burial will follow at West Concord Cemetery. He is survived by: daughter, Gail Simpson Harvey of Durham; grandsons, Jessie Simpson, Chris Owings, and Nathan Simpson; granddaughters, Kristin Simpson and Rita Trexler; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Lena Layton, Eunice Simpson, and Pearl Eury all of Concord.
