Zelma Medford

Zelma Irene Medford, age 92, passed away on March 19, 2010 at Carolinas Medical Center NorthEast in Concord. Born in Cabarrus County on March 16, 1918. Zelma Medford was preceded in death by her husband Lewis Hayes Medford, her father John Franklin Mabry, and her mother Ola Overcash Mabry. She was a Nursing Assistant with Cabarrus Memorial. Zelma was a member of West Concord Baptist Church. She enjoyed shopping, her family, reading, and doing wood working projects with her son. A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 21, 2010 from 6:00 PM 8:00 PM at Hartsell Funeral Home Concord. Funeral service will held on Monday, March 22, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel, 460 Branchview Dr. NE Concord NC, with the minister Rev. Mike Farley officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. Zelma Medford was survived by her daughter Saundra Mullis and husband Buster of the home, her son Joe Woody and wife Gloria of Travelers Rest SC, her grandchildren Gena Funderburk and husband Russell of Harrisburg NC, and Alan Woody of Columbia SC, and her great grandchildren: Cameron, Brandon, and Aaron. She will be deeply missed by her extended Mullis family.
